A simple contested d100 system for RP combat where one side attacks, the other defends, and the higher roll wins the exchange.
| Best For | Simple PvP or contested RP fights. |
|---|---|
| Players Needed | Two or more. |
| Dice Used | d100. |
| Typical Stakes | Defeat, retreat, capture, or other declared PvP consequences. |
| Needs DM/QM | Required for high stakes or when PvP rules require it. |
| Consent Required | Yes. The system and stakes must be agreed before rolling. |
Use this system only after all participants know the stakes. Capture, mutilation, permadeath, or lasting consequences require the victim's OOC consent under the PvP rules. Dice results are binding once the system and stakes are agreed and rolling begins.

Select the d100 option.
A character has Ataru 4 and Telekinesis 2 as possible offensive masteries, plus Endure Pain 3 and Force Sense 1 as possible defensive masteries. They must choose a single mastery for Offense and Defense. In this case, choosing the higher of the masteries; the character would have 4 rerolls and 6 HP (3 base HP +3)
As a character can only possess one mastery at rank 5, a character can only ever possess a maximum of 5 rerolls or 8 HP, and only with a mastery at rank 5.
There are some variations of this dice system that allow mastery stacking up to a cap, but these are not considered ‘standard’ and it should not be assumed that mastery stacking is allowed unless specifically agreed upon between parties.
At 0 HP, the defeated character suffers the pre-declared outcome. Do not add capture, maiming, permadeath, or other lasting consequences after the dice have already started unless all affected players agree and DM/QM approval is obtained when required.
While rare, ties do sometimes occur. There is no standardized rule for how to resolve them, so it is something that must be agreed upon between participants or DMs/QMs. Common options are either both parties re-rolling, or a “clash” (both characters take a point of damage)
